The Madagascar Institute's first street event. Two uniformed teams blocked a busy street on the Lower East Side to kick around a ball made from wire and gasoline-soaked bath towels before the police responded. Highlights included an annoying skater who kicked the flaming ball under a parked car (rescued with a courageous dive) and gothic cheerleaders yelling, "The ball, the ball, the ball is on fire." With the Hungry March Band. Additional photos in our Image Gallery.
