IGNITE!
It was supposed to be a Rube Goldberg fireworks performance. But at the last minute the festival organizers, at the bequest of the local authorities, refused to deliver our gunpowder. So instead we designed, salvaged parts for, and built a homemade carnival ride in five days. A junkyard-bound car, mounted 10 feet in the air, powered two 360-degree swings that spun festival-goers when the driver pressed the gas. Terrifying and satisfying.
